A Facebook Post By Nathan

The below is a direct lift from a Facebook post from Nathan and the responses he has received. None have been edited, so the spelling ect is as the person has responded and reflects how they feel about Nathan and what an amazing young man he is.

  • i know this is abit strange but i think scientist should make a liquid which paralyses someone just for a day or soo to make people relies how hard life is as a quad or even para i'm not going for sympothy or any of that crap. i just think it would give people alot more respect. but sometimes it's funny and other it shocks the living day light's out of you with disriflexia n all that jazz.

    • Yvonne Baines You are an amazing young man and how you have coped and managed is to me immensely admirable. You are an inspiration of whom I am proud to say I had the pleasure of meeting.

Mark Dunstan Hey big fella, know how hard it was not being able to walk properly for 5 months and all I got was shit from my employer and no visitors to home. So proud to know and be helping you fella, god help skipton next Saturday when we are out. Let's get that wheelchair rugby sorted out. You know what I say, don't say it do it!!
Keep that smile there and show people how strong you are

Jo Dunstan Nathan you're amazing. I've never met anyone in my 30 yrs of nursing with the attitude & positivity that you have. Unfortunately there will always be people who don't understand or can't cope with your situation & that saddens me. Have a great night on Saturday with the guys xx

    • Sarah Jayne Smith have shared big n,well saidlad. xx

George Claxton Nathan, I know exactly were you are comming from cuz when I'm at sixth form the years that are bellow me especially the small ones they walk in front of me as if they don't have a care in the world, but unfortunately no one will be able to understand  how hard our day to day life actually is which looks so simple to others until they experience it them selves, instead of looking at how hard it is because of what you don't have, look at what you do have that makes life easier. No matter what life throws at you, you will always have the people around you to fall back on if you fail, even if you do fall I know you will learn how to pick yourself back up and remember not to make the same mistake again, anyways what is stopping you from starting rugby, I know you say you are waiting for your house to be finished but that doesn't stop you from making the extra effort, so get your arse to southport, we REALLY need you. And for the record the day you kick my arse at wheelchair rugby is the day that pigs fly ;P x

Sue Cubitt Its not how many times you are knocked down Nathan its how you get your self brushed off and back up. You gave shown and proved that you can and do this often. Its peoples ignorance or inability to understand that controls their actions and emotions. All you can do is accept them for who they are if they will not or cannot accept you for who you are. You and George Claxton are two amazing people. I have the proudest pleasure of being your mum Nathan and having our extended family around us. Draw strength and determination from us as you give us your inspiration and positivity.

    • Rachel E Stevens Hun you know your amazing........how??? Look at where you are now and what youve acheived... that alone speaks n shows what an amazing positive acheiver you are. Its not about pity its other inexcusable narrow mindedness. You and your family are a breath of fresh air. Everyone gets knocked down. But not many have the strenghth to pick themselves up. I love you all. Xx

Mark Dunstan If people don't mind, I would like to put this thread onto the blog so people can see how Nathan feels and also how we all feel about Nathan if anyone doesn't want their comments posting to the blog, please let me know

    • Naomi Cubitt It's Nathans choice x

    • Peter Hanley Every able bodied person should spend 24 hours minimum in a wheelchair and try live their normal day. Then they would maybe understand our problems better.

    • Nathan John Brumfitt Love you babes

    • Naomi Cubitt Bulmers tonight bro? X

    • Faisal Ismail Listen mate, if anyone's takin the piss outta you for it they are just sad and pathetic n your worth ten of them innit, they better be hoping it doesn't happen to them cos then they'd know how it feels n it could happen to anyone. Know it's hard but try not to think about people like that they aren't worth your time. Keep your head up mate your a sound lad .
