2012 Review

Well we thought we would do a review of an amazing year of support for Nathan.

We started with the donations from clubs and individuals through the club website and direct to the club, then there was collections at Keighley Rugby Union Club matches. Followed by Nathan's team heading to Headingley to Leeds Carnegie to do a collection and meet Stuart Lancaster.

This was followed by the amazing day that was Nathan coming home from Pinderfields, I know the nurses there mean a lot to Nathan and his family, and have provided lots of help and support for them.

We moved straight on the Tag Rugby day which was supported so well it took us all by surprise and reduced Mark to tears when giving his speech at the end of the day. With the support of Jason Robinson, Proskins, Grange Jaguar, Hardcore Personal Training, every referee, all the teams and also everyone of you that came through the gates to support us, we couldn't really go wrong. Thank you all and we hope to see you all in 2013, please register now :-).

This was followed by the music night and golf days organised by Ken Dyson, both of which were amazing events, and Ken has told us that the golf will be an annual event too, so please watch out for details of this.

Then it was the turn of Russell Gibson with the Batmobile, driving to Portugal in a converted Volvo estate, another amazing event for the Trust.

We then moved on to the cycle ride from Liverpool to Leeds, which had thrills and spills along the way. Along with lots of rain and sore bums (Ronnie). But everyone did amazing to complete the ride in 2 days in such challenging conditions.

Then it was on to the Best Bib & Tucker Ball with the great Rhythm Junkies, we had a super raffle and auction prize of Top Gear tickets, this helped raise lots of money. Followed by great music and good food we also were lucky enough to have Jason Robinson with us again and we had another great night. Next years is booked and we want this to be bigger and better for 2013 so please watch out for booking information.

To end the year we have received news that our planning permission for the extension has been passed, this means that once the building has been completed Nathan will have his own living room, bedroom and wetroom. It took us a year to get him a shower chair and a shower at his grans, so if the extension takes 6 to 9 months to build at least he's going to be able to have his own space and be out of the dinning room. If your a trades man and want to help us do our own DIY SOS as they turned us down, then get in touch and i'm sure Matt will be glad of any help.

Looking forward to 2013

We have also have Nathan's 18th birthday party to plan and enjoy, this will be a none trust event, just a party to let our hair down and enjoy.

Once again thank you for your support and help in 2012 each and everyone of you, every little bit means so much.

Sian Griffin - An Amazing Supporter

Nathan & Sue have asked me to say a big thank you to Sian who not only came to our rescue as kit sponsor for the referees at the 2012 Tag Rugby.

But then went on to run the Dublin Marathon for the Trust raising £1,000 while carrying an injury, and all this with a smile on her face and constant message of support for Nathan too. Take a look at the amazing time of 4.15 too!!!

Sian has also asked if she can sponsor the referees for the 2013 Tag Rugby, which just shows her great support for Nathan and the Trust. Please show yours and join us at the Tag Rugby by clicking on the tab to register.

Fundraising Update

Another amazing fundraising update came up last week for Nathan, with an amazing £699.80 raised by year 7 students at South Craven through a variety of activities such as bun sales, raffles and a school disco. This was great and a massive thank you to everyone at South Craven who took part.

There was also a massive £3020.00 raised by Russell Gibson and his friends on the Batmobile run to Portugal. Thank you to Russell and all the guys.

Please help us in 2013 to keep the funds coming in for Nathan, we have the Tag Rugby 2013 and also the 2013 Ball along with other events and the wrist bands.

Nathan - Twickenham

Well in a weeks time Nathan and his Keighley U17's team mates will be heading to Twickenham for England v New Zealand. I just hope that Twickenham is ready for the Keighley U17's team mates and Nathan, as i am sure they will all be in good form and great voice. Just wondering if its possible to get the whole of Twickenham chanting his name!!! (One for you I think Yvonne).

If you see him or his team mates please say hello, I know Nathan is really looking forward to the day as he's been buying new England shirts, he's also had a rough couple of weeks with bed sores so will be ready for a trip out, all be it a very long day as Sue and Matt are driving down from Yorkshire in the morning. I'm sure if you ask them that they will have some of Nathan's wrist bands with them too, so why not ask them for one at £1 each and show your support.

To all Nathan's supporters from New Zealand sorry but he say's his signed All Blacks shirt will be staying at home this week, although your support means everything too him, and thank you all for that.

Also if you meet Nathan or his team mates, please ask them about the Tag Rugby in May and come and join us in Yorkshire for a great day's rugby and then a great nights entertainment. We now have great links with local hotels so can put you in touch with them too.
