Nathan Update

Well Nathan now has his Nerf gun and has become a great shot with it, if you visit him, be prepared to be the target.
Think we will have to run a video competition at the Tag Rugby event for the best trick shot with a Nerf gun, without anyone being injured Nathan!!!

We have now had a kind response from St Helens Rugby League Club offering a prize for the raffle on the day of the Tag Rugby event.

What we need now is Referee's so if there's any out there willing to give a day up to help Nathan, please get in touch at nathantagrugby@gmail.com as Canterbury have also kindly offered to provide a kit for you too.

There is going to be a charity back and chest waxing at The Prince Of Wales public house, Alerton Road, Alerton, Bradford on 10th March starting at 7pm, this is to raise money for Nathan's trust fund. Please go along and support them, these people don't know Nathan but are willing to endure pain for him.

Also please don't forget the match at Bradford Salem on Wednesday evening, kick off 7:30pm. The line ups are looking really good and should be a great turn out.

Leeds Carnegie

Well unfortunately Nathan wasn't well enough today to attend the Leeds Carnegie game, although they have said to let the club know when he wants to go again and they will arrange this.

I know Nathan's Keighley U17's team won today at Baildon and he will be made up with that result, well done guys.

Unfortunately the Leeds team couldn't make it a double for the big man, they lost to a last minute try, and that following such a great start, with a 60 meter try by the number 8 from the first scrum of the game. It was close all the way, with one or two instances were players ended up isolated or taking the ball to the line when passing may have been the better option. But hey we can all be touch line coaches. We won't mention the sin bin for Jon, other than to say if you are held in how are you supposed to roll away!!

A massive thank you to centurion who have so kindly donated 4 sets of 10 tag rugby belts, another great sporting company who are supporting Nathan and his Tag Rugby event.

Nathan's operation went well the other day and he's now looking forward to being the guest of Leeds Carnegie at their match on Sunday.

We are aware that there is an issue with Nathan's twitter account and this is being worked on at the moment, we know you all like to see his regular tweets and updates. We are hoping to get this fixed and back running as soon as possible.

Also a big thank you to http://www.rugbynews.co.nz/ for adding Nathan to the front page of their website, the global rugby family are amazing.

Mums Day with Nathan

I asked Nathan's mum Sue for an update for the website, to do this she put together some words of her day with Nathan yesterday and his positive attitude to everything in life, what some of us see as a barrier Nathan See's as something that Can be overcome.

Went to pick Nathan up today,'come on mum, get a move on, games starting soon and I don't want to miss the beginning'.  I am stood outside the van, looking at the snow coming down and the gritters with big chuff off snow ploughs on!  Nathan says 'don't be a wuss Mum'!  It says something when Nathan doesn't care about the weather, he says 'it's okay we know people that will get me back'.  Nothing phases him.  On roads, 'Mum, it's getting a bit worse up here'.  Nathan then would only accept going back to hospital with a bribe of a BK drive through!  Sat in canteen safely at Pinderfields, watching snow coming and he's planning on ski's for the wheelchair.  He's going to turn me grey haired long before my time.  Nathan still remains strong and a character second to none.  He really didn't care that the snow may make him stuck at home, he knows he's got the support of all his family and friends. Xxxx

This is the attitude that makes me and the others helping so sure we will make his Fancy Dress Tag rugby event a success, if people put barriers in our way, we will go over them, under them or through them. If this young man can fight anything that life throws at him, then so can we!!!

Look in to those eye's and then send an email to nathantagrugby@gmail.com and join us for the Tag Rugby, as a player, a helper, a sponsor or even just a supporter. If you know someone who could help with face painting, or a hog roast or any ideas of how to make the event a success then please drop us a line.

We had thought of everyone who played getting a rugby stress ball, like the ones Nathan finds both helpful for building his fine motor skills and also for throwing at people visiting and the passing nurses, but we need a sponsor for these, and would love to have them branded for that company.
