Nathan's Ball

Ladies and Gentleman, we have decided after a meeting last night that Nathan's summer ball will take place on Friday 14th September at the Rendezous Hotel in Skipton, with a twist to make it affordable to more people.

The event will be best bib and tucker for you all, with special Nathan Cubitt Trust Bibs for sale for those not wishing to make a mess of their clothes, also to help make the event affordable and enjoyable, we have chosen with guidance of the Rendezous staff a hot buffet style meal rather than a formal 3 course meal, this keeps costs down and also means more time for the band and disco.

I have been approached by two bands interested in playing at the night, but need to now confirm that they are available on the 14th, also we need to confirm that our disco is available but these are just minor details, the main thing is we need 300 of you to join us and have a great night with Nathan. Tickets for the night will be £20 per person, we will have our own bar in the room, and after the food a quieter room will be available for those who would rather not be in with the disco too.

If you have a company that would like to sponsor a table to have your name on the table and help us with the cost of decorating the room then email nathantagrugby@gmail.com, we would be looking at a donation of around £20 for this and your company name and logo will be on the blog, table, on the event door and also on the slide show running through out the night.

Events

Planning is coming on well for the Liverpool to Leeds cycle ride along the canal tow path, this is going to be done over 2 days, dates to be confirmed. We are looking to over night in the Burnley area and have been in touch with local hotels with hope that we can get reduced rates. I will post estimated timings of area we will be passing through once i have worked these out.

The planning for a end of Summer/Autumn ball is moving along nicely, with some interesting venues wanting to host the event for Nathan, just looking at catering and then we will be able to put the package together and let you know where, when and how much the event will cost. If you play in a band and would like to help out by playing at the event please email me at nathantagrugby@gmail.com , if you have a catering company that would be interested in giving us a price for the catering then please also email me.

The Hadrians wall walk is likely to take place next year, but this is not set in stone as if we get the right support then we may aim for August. This is a challenge to walk the route in under 36hrs as a relay, so we would need a mini bus to help with transport of walkers. Again if you can help with this please email me at nathantagrugby@gmail.com

From Leeds Winoes

Hello Nathan and Mark

Many thanks for a superb tournament last weekend gents. Great organisation, good atmosphere and really really well organised.

Definitely up for another one later this year or next year - wouldn't complain if it was two-handed touch next time,  ha ha, can send you the rules if you want ?, I just can't grab those $!$%!!!!!! tags.

Cheers from all the chaps at Leeds Winoes.

Pete.

Next Events

Well we have lots of ideas for events for Nathan, including;

  • Its a Knock Out
  • Race / Quiz night including Pig racing
  • Cycling from Liverpool to Leeds
  • Walking Hadrian's Wall in Relay to see if we can do it in under 36hrs
  • Summer Ball
For It's A Knock Out we would need corporate teams and a sponsor for the event due to initial costings, so if your interested in helping, email nathantagrugby@gmail.com

Race / Quiz night all we need is location, date and people to attend so this will be happening very soon!

Cycling from Liverpool to Leeds along the canal over 2 days, we need a sponsor to help with cost of support vehicle and the overnight stay (yes i will be trying to get the best deal for those who know me).

The walking of Hadrian's Wall, we need 2 support vehicles and if possible a sponsor for walking T Shirts and rain coats, again if you can help email nathantagrugby@gmail.com

Summer Ball, will need a venue and people to attend, if you are a local hotel with a large function room then we may be in touch very soon, but feel free to contact us at nathantagrugby@gmail.com

More details once the planning moves on.

Helping Others

Its come to our attention that there is an event taking place in the memory of Tom Sephton as soldier who sadly passed away as a result of wounds he received in Afghanistan, as with Nathan the rugby family of both codes pull together in times of need, details are all below.

There Next Event is on 30th June 2012

Nathans Word

We got asked by the Yorkshire post for a few words from Nathan & Sue on how last week went, and we thought that we would post them here for you too.

'When I arrived at KRUFC I was amazed at how many people they were.  Walking around in Hero's outfits and Morph Suits!  So funny.  The only place where you would see 6ft + 19 stone blokes in pink tutu's - fantastic!

The weather was just the ticket!  Wall to wall sunshine.

We had an amazing day.  Jason Robinson was there all day with us.  He was very kind to stay all day and have photo's taken with everyone.

The games were superb although some teams did not turn up which meant a quick change to the schedule but this didn't have a massive impact overall.  The final was a really good game even though there was the first yellow card of the event.  Morphs - Keighley 1st team won the Tag Event and now have an opportunity to go to London to play in their Tag Event.

This was a superb day - Loved it!'

There has also bee great feedback on emails form referees and players, thank you for this guys it means a lot.

Here are the links to 2 paper articles about the event too;
