1 Week to Tag Rugby 2015

Well we have just 1 week to our Tag Rugby event, we are working like mad now on this.


We've had great support from Iain Harris Physio Solutions with the referees kit sponsorship, Try Tag Rugby with their sponsorship by supplying Tag Rugby shorts for us to sell to keep us inline with all other Tag Rugby events

We are also looking for referees still if anyone out there can please help us for a few hours, kit and lunch provided.

At half time we will have lots going on, but the first thing we will be doing is taking time to remember the Keighley Cougars player Danny Jones, followed by a stand up auction for his family, lets show that rugby may be 2 codes but as we know from when Nathan was injured that it is one family. If anyone can supply a signed short for this we would be most grateful, however we do hva some great auction items if not.

Urgent Referees Required Tag Rugby 2015

We are still short of a few referees for this years Tag Rugby.

If you are a League, Union or Tag Rugby referee we would urgently love to hear from you before the event at Keighley Rugby Union Club on Sunday 24th May, even if you can just spare us a couple of hours. We will providing you with a free kit and free lunch for your help on the day.

We have checked with the club and Yorkshire RFU for insurance and we can accept teams from U14's upwards, although we would like these to be dads / mums and lads / girls basis if possible just to assist us in the management of teams on the day, so please spread the news and get your teams entered. We are still awaiting for confirmation from UKAR if they have a team, which Mark will get on Monday.

Tag Rugby 2105 Special Words from the Cubitt Family

Hello all,

Just thought I would write a few words before we go into full Tag Mode for the next couple of weeks.

We would like to take a minutes silence at half time on Tag day for Danny Jones.  I am sure that throughout the game both league and union, we never expect our loved ones never to return home to us.

This must be so very heartbreaking, devastating and life changing.  I am sure everyone will be helping Danny's family, team and club throughout this tragic time and beyond.  Our thoughts and prayers go to you all.

We have been kindly sent a signed shirt that we are going to do a stand up auction for.  All of the proceeds from the stand up auction will go to Danny's fund so please dig deep.

"It can never happen us" - well this comment has been proven now twice within very close proximity within both sides of our close rugby family that tragedies do happen but what has been resounding is the support and unity within this sport.

We have said all along that this is not just a sport, it's a family and one that we are very very proud to be part of.

Nathan has finally started Gym this week and hopefully will start to strengthen his arms to be able to learn to drive.  This is a massive step forward (figure of speech)!
He has been dogged with multiple situations over the last 30 weeks and more, at one stage he has spent a staggering 16 weeks in bed, but, he still stays remarkably strong and determined to
beat what ever is thrown at him even missing out on the last few episodes of Top Gear (although this was hardest to have to endure) !!!

We are driven, even more now to make this event the biggest and best with fun for all the family and bringing more people into the Rugby community.

Just to add the event is on Sunday 24th May with registration starting at 9am, we have also had it confirmed we can have juniors involved in the event, but for safety we would like to encourage this to be in the style of dads (or mums) and lads or girls teams. 2 weeks to Tag Rugby 2015

Well there is just under 2 weeks to Tag Rugby 2015!!!

We still need teams to get there entry forms in to us by no later than the Wednesday before, come on Ladies and Gentlemen lets try and get more teams than 2014!! We still need a face painter for the event, and trust me you will make plenty of money as it's not just the children that get their faces painted.

At half-time we will be doing a few different things this year including stand up bingo, a minutes silence for Danny Jones and we are hoping to have a signed shirt to do a stand up auction for, again this will be for the Danny Jones Trust. As we have told Gary Fawcett and all those at the Keighley Cougars, we may be 2 codes but we are one family, so please come and show your support.

Try Tag Rugby are not involved in the running of this years event, but are providing sponsorship in the form of shorts for the event, and they will at the event to promote their new Yorkshire Leagues.

We still have space for further sponsors and are also looking for a sponsor for the half time drop kick competition.

Also after the sad events with the Keighley Cougars and Danny Jones we are currently having a meeting of the events team to see if there is anything we can do at our Tag Rugby event to provide some fundraising and support for his young family, suggestions gratefully received. As rugby may have 2 codes but we are one family and we learnt this when Nathan had his accident.

Well not too long to go to Tag Rugby 2015 and we have had a meeting for what is still required.

We urgently require referees for the day, a free kit and food on the day will be provided for anyone that can help us out, the rules we will be playing by are here tag-rugby rules although we play 7 minutes each way not 20 minutes. Also we are looking for Tombola prizes for the event, if anyone has anything no matter how small we would love to hear from you, please contact us on the details above or if you know Sue or Naomi than speak to them.

We are also looking for some safety barriers to go around our hog roast while its cooking, if anyone works for a company that has some we can borrow for the day we would be grateful.

Our biggest issue is that we have tried a number of children's face painters and we still haven't been able to book one, please get in touch if you can help, this has always been a great success every year we have done the Tag Rugby and we would hate not to carry this on.

Team registration is still open and we are hoping to have all teams registered by the Wednesday before the event which is 20th May, as this will then enable us to have all your matches worked out for you when you arrive in the morning, and also be able to send you out the rules as soon as you have registered for the event. Richards Residential Supplies have agreed to be a part event sponsor along with Try Tag Rugby who have done so by providing us with the official Tag Rugby shorts to sell on the day as part of their sponsorship. However we are still looking for other sponsors no matter how small your business is we can come to some arrangement and spread the name of your business to help promote you in return for your sponsorship.

Tag Rugby 2015 update

We are moving along with the planning for Tag Rugby 2015 now.

We have the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and The Yorkshire regiment attending in some form on the day.

We also have Zumba for the half time entertainment.

Now what we need is for you to start to register your teams with the registration form here Nathan Cubitt Trust Tag Rugby Registration Form once completed this can either be handed to one of the event staff, or emailed to nathantagrugby@gmail.com any problems please call Mark Dunstan on 07595337159.

We would like to have as many mixed teams as possible this year, although we are not going to say that you have to have a mixed team, as we understand this is not possible for a lot of teams.

We now have our referees kit sponsor, Iain Harris who will be very shortly opening a new Physiotherapy Practice in Crosshills, a big thank you to Iain for this.

However we are still looking for event sponsors to help cover the costs of other essentials on the day, such as our requirement for and ambulance and paramedic to be on site all day.
