Just thought i would pop a little update on how the preperation for the tag rugby event is going.
Gilbert have kindly offered us some match balls for the event, a big thank you to them for their kind support. Along with Canterbury who have very knidly offered to provide the kit for our referees, such kind offers from international companies.
With regards equiries for entry now had 10 teams enquire and will be pushing the promotion of the event even more this week.
With regards Nathan, he is to have 2 more operations this week, so we need to keep the smile on his face, and although i know Sue will kill me for this. Think we need to get him the Nerf gun he has been asking for, although knowing Nathan he may have this confiscated by nursing staff very quickly.
This is the events Blog for Nathan Cubitt, who broke his neck playing for Keighley Rugby Union Club on 6th November 2011. Nathan is being supported by his club, family, friends and the wider rugby community, with some great events great event. NEXT EVENT JOINT BALL WITH FORCE EXILES NOV 7TH 2015

A Mothers Words
BELOW ARE TWO STATEMENTS FROM SUE NATHANS MUM
Nathan had an accident whilst playing for the Under 17's team on Sunday, 6th November at KRUFC playing against Bradford and Bingley team.
In this freak accident Nathan broke his neck. It's left him paralysed from the armpits down but he has movement in his arms and wrists. Nathan has no fine motor movement in his hands which means he cannot grip or pick up items.
Nathan is attending Physio and OT on a daily basis to help maintain and improve movement of his arms and legs. Nathan is having to re learn how to use his arms and hands for every day activities.
The progress is steady with Nathan but we can see the improvements all the time as he gets stronger as Nathan can now propel his wheelchair on his own for short distances.
Sitting here trying to say some words about my son Nathan, mmmm it's difficult. Nathan is an absolute typical Gemini. He is lovely and sweet, the best shopping partner ever. Feed him every now and then, buy him something and he will carry your bags all the way round Meadow Hall without a moan! He doesn't stress about anything - literally. However, where's there is pleasure there is pain and his other side is not very nice. If he feels something is wrong he will say it's wrong and argue the point but thankfully Nathan's pleasant personality always wins out and he's back to his usual laid
back attitude.
Nathan is a strong individual that has kept the rest of us going. He really is an inspirational young man who makes everyone around him buzz! Even in a wheelchair he's still kept the same momentum. He doesn't seem to wain with his lovely addictive smile, cheeky grins and conspiring winks. Nathan is always up to something and keeps the nurses busy and laughing.
I know Nathan is going to be alright what ever the outcome, he's a positive, strong willed, inspirational and very very loved young man who wins hearts and smiles and gives it all right back.
Nathan is our Big Man xx
I hope the statements above make you want to do a little bit for Nathan and join us at his Fancy Dress Tag rugby, if so please email us at nathantagrugby@gmail.com Nathan has full access to this email so messages of goodwill can also be sent to him.

Nathan's progress
Nathan was at Keighley rugby club on 15th January, it was great to see him with the great young gentleman who make up his team. The support these young gentleman show Nathan makes you have faith in the youth of this country, they have pulled together and done everything they can to keep that smile on Nathans face.
He was also there for us to pitch the idea of the Tag Rugby to the committee at Keighley, the idea was something put to Nathan when Mark was visiting him and he is so wanting to get the event off the ground he wanted to be there to find out what was happening. In Nathan's word after the meeting, lets get a truck and go to Macro for the food, how big a truck will we need?
With Nathan so behind the event and wanting it to happen, failure is now not in our vocabulary. But we need you guys out there to help by signing up to take part, sponsor or help, by emailing nathantagrugby@gmail.com .
On Sunday 22nd January, Nathan was home for his mum's meat and potato pie, with sponge pudding. Something i'm sure he will have loved. Although he uttered words i'm not sure his family have ever heard before, 'i'm full'.

The video's and photo's put a big smile on Nathans face, along with all who have seen them.
